For all the years I’ve been driving through Augusta to go to the camp, I never knew about Sandy Point Seafood. It’s definitely going to be a regular stop for me now! The haddock sandwich was enormous, and I tried the fish tacos, which had been highly recommended by another customer. They came with mango sauce and a delicious homemade salsa, though there was more than I could eat. The crispy fries were excellent, though my wife didn't quite share my enthusiasm for them. The live lobster prices were very reasonable too. We also enjoyed our time near the kayaking at Mill Park.
The fried haddock lunch plate was simply outstanding. There were three of us, all over six feet tall with hearty appetites, and this one dish was plenty to share among us. We all left feeling extremely full and satisfied. We also picked up ten lobsters for dinner that evening. This restaurant has consistently exceeded my expectations. Coming from the South and visiting Maine, I had high hopes for the food. I know what good food is, I love fresh seafood, and I’m a big fan of excellent customer service. Everything about this place was perfect.
Red Barn has some serious competition! The staff was friendly, and service was prompt. I tried the Chipotle Shrimp Salad, which came with a generous portion of shrimp, fresh vegetables, and a very reasonable price. While I was waiting for my meal, a woman in line mentioned to the staff that it was the best meal she had on her trip—it's easy to understand why!
We're here on vacation, from Colorado. This place is great and I love doing business with them. The peeled lobster is top-notch!, I'll get a few pounds to fly to Colorado. I did last year, and we occasionally had lobster rolls all winter. And you can't beat to make your own lobster stew with nothing more than lobster tails, butter, heavy pipe cream and a lot of salt. I am sad to learn from their personal tragedy; taught by reading reviews, and I am glad to support their business. Raise them and their in prayer.
Best seafood in town! Had to wait almost 2 hours in line on Father's Day but it was worth it!
