Contribute Feedback What Dora Schütz doesn't like about Die Ecke:
The food: classics, sometimes with an added twist, excellent. The atmosphere: strange, neither traditional old Bavaria, nor modern contemporary -- a sort of hotch-potch of the two. A pleasant evening, but pretty expensive for what it is, especially the wine. View all feedback.
We made a reservation before we come, but the day was not very busy. we decided to have the menu for the taste direction at 85 € per person. this came in 7 (if I remember correctly) courses that were all absolutely delicious. together with the food. we had first a bottle of buitenverwachting sauvignon blanc from South Africa a really good choice, and then later a bottle rooi olifant, also from South Africa a wein made it to my top ten red wine list. the service was great and friendly and the restaurant had a pleasant atmosphere inside. we are very happy and happy. we could pay with an EC card.
We cannot praise the corner stubs too much: the situation is exceptional, the decoration and atmosphere warm traditional, but also with the most modern art, as it fits its earlier incarnation as an artist gallery cum studio. there is a personal greeting of the owner, and that is personal. friendly, attentive and obligated. that brings me to food, which was simply the best eating our short vacation in augsburg. ingredients of the highest quality, simply and professionally cooked, aromen complement each other as excellent dishes to combine. we will be back!
Great meal in the courtyard. excellent carpaccio, fantastic fish and loved the desert. wine selection was not very big and a little expensive, but what they had was very good.
Not cheap, but excellent taste with regional incrediants. we had a 3-course menu with some fish and meat all prepared in a very interesting style very tasteful. belongs to the group of best restaurants in augsburg.
Went with the 5-course menu at 78€. All was good, yet we would have expected more refinement and higher quality for this elevated price. For two, we ended up with a bill of 250€, which normally is enough for 1 Michelin star... The terrace was...lovely and service was efficient, but also here I would have expected a little more.
