This may be a bold statement, but these are arguably the best burgers in JHB. The Mighty Big Cheese or the Southern Chicken burger paired with a Devils Peak Golden Ale are the perfect combo.
09.11.2018 A colleague and i felt like burgers so we went to get takeaways. It was packed, but luckily the queue moved relatively quickly it was just a bit of a wait to collect. Good sized burgers, fresh ingredients and tasty. I ordered the basic Cheese and Bacon Beef Burger and my friend had the Big Cheese Burger. My only gripe was that the burger patty was still very pink inside and i prefer mine well done. I know for next time to specify that. Close to work and great for a relaxing Friday lunch. <br/ <br/ I ordered the falafel burger with crispy chips and my lunch friend had the chicken burger. Our food was delicious, the falafel burger was tasty and not stodgy. They have a kickass chilli on the side for those who like it hot. <br/ <br/ Service was a little slow initially and then remedied itself to proactive and friendly. BYO at no corkage which is a plus how I wish we had taken our own wine. Their house wine knocked me out . <br/ <br/ I like Ribs Burgers and will be back...with my own vino.

If you have not yet heard of Ribs and Burgers, I’m here to tell you that you’ve been missing out. Ribs and Burgers is an international restaurant chain with recently opened South African branches in Sandton and Pretoria. A few weeks ago I went to visit Ribs and Burgers in Sandton at The Marc. I’ve visited them a number of times previously, so clearly I’m a fan. This time, I decided to bring my mom along for lunch and introduce her to Ribs and Burgers. We started out with a glass of Peacock merlot – perfect for a chilly autumn day. I then opted for the bacon and cheese burger. This is a 150g beef patty served with bacon, American cheese, lettuce, tomato, onion and pickles with a BBQ and pink sauce. Absolutely delicious. The patty was juicy and flavoursome; cooked to perfection. At Ribs and Burgers you can select how you’d like your patty done and you can also pick and choose and add on any extra toppings as you like. My mom opted for the 400g grass fed rump steak (yes my mother too has a big appetite. I guess I got it from my mama ; . The rump was flame grilled and basted in Ribs and Burgers’ signature BBQ basting. She loved this steak. We also shared a side of the thick cut crunchy potato chips. Our waiter recommended the chilli mayonnaise dipping sauce to go with the chips which was a great recommendation. The portion sizes at Ribs and Burgers are very generous making any meal great value for money.
