The restaurant offers several vegan dishes on their menu. I ordered the tofu bao and the fried cauliflower, both of which were delicious. The bao was just the right size and the cauliflower was seasoned with salt and pepper, making it tasty. The mild spicy dip sauce complemented the cauliflower well. I enjoyed my meal so much that I considered returning the next day to try another dish from the menu. View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about Melba Takapuna:
The waiter was amazing but the food not as much. We got pork dumplings and the pork was still raw (pink) After I spoke to the waiter she went to the kitchen and back to us explaining the chef said the dumplings are pre cooked and he prepared it as per the instructions on the packet… I attached a photo of the raw dumplings and one of the cooked ones after the chef send the waiter and she brought a new plate about 30 m... The bao at this restaurant is delicious and offered at reasonable prices. The location is also very convenient, as it is located on the Takaluna strip. I will definitely be coming back again.
The staff at this restaurant were extremely friendly and attentive, and the food was delicious. The only thing that would have made the experience better is slightly larger portion sizes.
My partner and I came here for a relaxed date night. The service was fantastic, with the server kindly offering to swap out the bok choy for broccoli in my wonton soup. While I thought the broth was too salty for my liking, my partner enjoyed his chicken wings and cheese bao burger. We are looking forward to returning to try more items on the menu. It was a nice touch to have heaters at the outdoor tables as well.
Cannot complain about the quality and taste of the food, they know how to make good food!! They also have very friendly and polite staff. Very good service. <br/ <br/ However the portion compared to the price that you pay is not worth what you get. After getting two items and a drink off the menu resulting to over $30 just for myself, I was still quite hungry.
Came here for a spontaneous dinner as we had seen it on Zomato Gold. <br/ <br/ The booths were all reserved but the entire time we were there only one of them was occupied. The waitress was quite friendly and helpful with ordering. <br/ The food has smaller portion sizes and so is a little expensive for the size.<br/ <br/ We got the fried chicken – which was a tad dry. But I absolutely loved the cheese burger bao – it was really creative and executed quite well.
