We've only gone for the desert so far, but it was worth it. It is very cozy and the crepes are delicious. We had the same waitress every time and she was both beautiful to deal with and helpful. View all feedback.
This quaint yet cozy French restaurant offers a warm atmosphere. The staff is exceptionally friendly and attentive. The food is delightful, particularly the crepes and chicken liver pâté. Additionally, the decor adds to the charm of the place.
The restaurant isn't too crowded, has lovely French music, and the staff is incredibly friendly. It's my favorite French restaurant to visit. The prices are surprisingly reasonable, and there's plenty of easy parking near Three Lamps. Highly recommended!
About a year ago, I was working near Le Garde-Manger, so I decided to stop by for a takeaway meal during my break. I ordered La Fermière, and the person taking my order was incredibly friendly and pleasantly surprised by my pronunciation, which really speaks to the authenticity of this restaurant. I didn't have to wait long at all before my order was ready, and they served me with a smile. The highlight, however, was the food; it was absolutely divine—I'd even say it was the best thing I've ever eaten. I highly recommend this place, and I look forward to returning soon.
After shopping for Xmas presents at Milly's in Ponsonby we decided to have lunch in the area. We settled on Le Garde Manger which is just a few doors down. The cafe offers a wide range of galettes (with matching French ciders) and sweet crepes, as well as full meals. From the galette menu we chose the Dijonnaise and the Savoyarde. The Dijonnaise has pork sausage, tomato, potatoes, and spinach with a Dijon mustard sauce. The Savoyarde has bacon, Racelette cheese and potatoes with a creamy sauce. We also had a side of fries, which were perfect crisp on the outside and light and fluffy inside these really were very good. The galettes were both very very tasty, with generous amount of fillings, and just perfect for lunch. We can recommend the cafe for a taste of France in Ponsonby, and a very tasty lunch.
Charming and cosy place with great atmosphere and an authentic French feel to it. Fantastic entrees (French onion soup and chicken liver pate among the favourites), very tasty and filling mains (would recommend rump steak or scotch fillet dishes, but anything is a treat really), and great desserts (try Crepe martiniquaise). Very reasonably priced for the amount and quality of food you're getting. Waiting times are standard, staff are always very friendly and helpful. One of my favourite places in Ponsonby to come back to.
