De Fontein Belgian Beer Café

This is our local spot where we often grab a quick drink and some fries, as well as celebrate birthdays and anniversaries. It's a lively place with a great atmosphere, and they offer daily specials. However, the highlight of the week is Sunday when a jazz band performs. The food is excellent, and the service is friendly. The location is perfect too! In the summer, you can enjoy a beer on their balcony while watching the sunset over the iconic Mission Bay. We absolutely love this place!

This is an excellent spot for tourists like us, offering breathtaking views. Mondays feature half-priced mussels, which are absolutely delicious. A friend recommended this place to us, and we were not disappointed. The food is very tasty, and the service is quick. The staff is friendly and more efficient than at other restaurants we've visited here in New Zealand. The manager has done a fantastic job. Thank you, Jay!

I commend the customer service my family and I received from the manager. They brought out food to us and it was not quite up to standard I told the waiter nicely and voiced my concern in regarding to the kids meal presented and also my mussels that were over baked. I ended up cancelling the kids meal and ate what I can salvage from the mussels as I am too tired from a day out to complain. After couple of minutes speaking to the waiter the manager came up to me and Apologised without making any excuses and came back with a perfectly baked mussels and he was so friendly and spent time talking to us and my children. Thank you for your service and we will be back soon. Made my day. #nostressdining

This is a lovely restaurant with fantastic food. The fresh oyster and mussel platter is superb. The staff is very friendly, and since Mondays are known for mussels, we decided to give them a try—it was an amazing experience. The service was quick, the food was delicious, and they have an extensive selection of Belgian beers. We particularly enjoyed the cherry beer and Hoegaarden. The location right by the seaside is also wonderful. I definitely plan to return with my family. Thank you for the great experience! The manager, Vijay, is excellent and very welcoming.
