What User doesn't like about White River Amphitheatre:
This was my first time dining at this restaurant. I went to see the Backstreet Boys perform and was really looking forward to it. I live around 30 minutes away, traffic permitting... View all feedback.
If you're planning to go during the summer, be aware that there’s little to no shade while waiting, so dress accordingly. Also, you can’t bring your own lawn chair; you must rent one. You'll need a CLEAR BAG, and the restrictions on non-clear bags are quite strict, so it's a good idea to invest in a clear bag before your visit. I had one on hand, as I suspected this would be the case. I ordered a cocktail (the spiked strawberry lemonade in a mason jar), which I rated 8/10, along with two non-bubbly Liquid Death waters; the total was around $40. Finding our seats was easy, and the food was delicious and reasonably priced for a venue—brisket nachos and chicken strip baskets were both about $15, with large portions that easily filled two people. The concert sounded fantastic, and I thoroughly enjoyed my experience. Just a note for shorter attendees: the seating in the 100 section isn’t as steeply slanted as I would have liked, so you may have difficulty seeing over taller guests. Now, about exiting the venue—it was chaotic. Getting out was slow and packed, which was expected, but the traffic on the roads was even worse. Police were directing traffic and blocking certain routes, forcing you to take longer detours. Most paths were well-marked, but there was one sign pointing to Tacoma without any indications for turns, which led me down a road until I had to turn back, as Tacoma was definitely not ahead. So, prepare to feel exhausted and stuck in frustrating traffic for a while after the show. Overall, I’d rate the experience a 7/10, considering both the positives and negatives. As a side note, two of the photos are mine, and the other two are from a Facebook group I’m part of; they offer a clearer view of the venue during a show.

If you have lawn seating, you can rent a chair on-site, but bringing your own chair is not allowed. The only downside is the parking situation and the lengthy wait to exit back to the main entrance. It would be helpful if they had traffic direction after the show instead of just waving their flashlights around—it would certainly make the departure process quicker.
I loved the venue! it has great food options, good drinks, as well as stunning view of Mount Rainier. It provides free parking when you purchase your tickets but also offers premium parking choices. When I bought the tickets I wondered why they insisted on purchasing the premium parking but after the concert I understood why. It took us two hours to leave the place, 3 to arrive home. It only has one street access. It took us at least 2 and a half hours to get there from downtown Seattle. I don't think I will return. Premium parking costs $50 or more. This place contributes significantly to the local economy, although the lack of good access roads complicates matters.
This is my second time attending a concert at this venue, and I have to say, the food choices are outstanding, and the restrooms are consistently clean. The only downside is the traffic situation. I recommend arriving at least 1.5 to 2 hours before your concert, as the venue is in a remote area with only one route for access. If you want to park nearby and exit quickly after the show, it's wise to consider their parking options.
The venue size is fantastic, and the acoustics are impressive! However, leaving from the general parking area was a bit of a NIGHTMARE. I really appreciated that they had a merchandise booth in the parking lot, allowing you to buy items and then take them to your car instead of carrying them around. There’s really only one small hotel in town, and it’s quite far out in the county. I would definitely go back and make the drive from Oregon if there was a band I really wanted to see!
