Our visit this past week in early October was great. The greens had been aeriated approximately five days earlier, however they were reasonably playable. The rest of the course was in very good condition and the staff, as usual, were very helpful. View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about Washington National Golf Club:
Always wanted to play Washington National and finally got the chance with my Oki membership. Let me start of saying this review is the course and not the staff. The staff was great. But my o my does this place have some issues. Rocks sometimes the size of baseballs and plenty of gravel in multiple traps if not all. And the drainage is one of the worst I’ve ever seen on a course. Maybe it’s better in the Summer but fa... View all feedback.
Staff was friendly and helpful but the course needs work. Most of the bunkers around the course have huge rocks in them, and are in serious need of some upkeep. The fairways and greens were in decent shape overall with only a few rough patches, but I would expect more for what the greens fees are here. Over $100.00 to walk 18 on a weekday morning…. There are plenty of courses within a 30 minute drive in much better shape and around half the cost!Course could really be special, but in this current condition and price point it may be a while before we return.
It's one of my favorite courses. It is always in excellent condition and fun to play.
I wanted to give special recognition to Kyle (Head golf pro) and Doug (Pro shop) for their customer service. I booked a twilight tee time 1 week our and the day before the actual round, Kyle emailed me and was apologetic for having to move my tee time. My group's green fees were complimentary as a result of the change. Fantastic customer service! The actual course itself poses a number of challenges. The front 9 has generous fairways and the greens are slightly raised with heavily protected bunkering. You have to hit the ball high on the front 9 as rolling it up to the green puts all of the bunkers in play. The back 9 requires more accurate driving of the ball and less scoring opportunities if you are not hitting greens. The course is beautifully designed and flows naturally with its environment. A must play for any golfer.
Great course, sand traps are everywhere, approach shots need to avoid those steep sand traps.
Played this beautifully maintained course on Tuesday 14 March. Greens and fairways in great shape for this time of year. Challenging but fun course with lots of bunkers. Stunning setting with towering, beautiful firs, and houses on the course are set back far enough to be barely noticeable. Nice carts that are well taken care of. Brandon in the Pro Shop was outstanding very professional, knowledgeable and amiable! I'll definitely be back! This was my 219th course played since May 2019! ??️??
