This small hole in the wall BBQ joint by Hwy 80 in Auburn is a good surprise for my wife and me. We love finding hidden gems and that's one of them. You will not be disappointed! I had the 3 meat combination with ribs, link and brisket together with macaroni salad and frits. View all feedback.
The food was very delicious. I had the brisket sandwich my wife had with the pulled pork sandwich. I like my brisket without being broken into so much sauce, so next time I will ask for sauce on the side. But it had a really good taste and the grilled beans were great. I definitely come back.
What a great BBQ joint reminds me of a hole in the wall you would find in Alabama or in the small town of Texas. All I had here is excellent, but let me tell you that I lived in the south and had BBQ from many different places, but the ribs here in Smokey Pit are perhaps the best I ever had tender, great taste, their sauce is fantastic! Pages like potato salad and Cole Slav are also delicious. Prices are reasonable and the service is top notch. If you like BBQ and you are in the area or just go through, you need to try this place!
Oh, my goodness. this is amazing BBQ. The Ribs were so meaty, BBQ beans were not too sweet and not to smoke just perfect. Macaroni and potato salads homemade. Hot link sharp, but not so sharp that you could not enjoy it. Tri-tip sandwich filled with delicate slices. So we're back 30 minutes from the house. A must for everyone who likes BBQ
My husband and I discovered this charming little spot on top of a small hill. While it might not look particularly impressive from the outside or even inside, you won't believe it – it's the best ribs we've ever tasted! Don't let the unassuming appearance fool you; these hidden gems can truly surprise you! I'm 70 years old and we drive all the way from Manteca just for this BBQ place that serves amazing ribs! I mean, THE RIBS... We can't wait to return, again and again! Del and Patti Black
This is undoubtedly the best BBQ spot in the area. It’s a small, family-run business where the owner truly cares about his craft. The place might not look like much from the outside—just a little hole in the wall with a large star sign above the door—but the food is absolutely fantastic, and the portion sizes are generous. The owner smokes and cooks the meat right outside, and the aroma that fills the air is simply irresistible. My favorite dish is the pulled pork, which is incredibly tender and flavorful. Each meal comes with two sides, and the owner serves everything on compartmentalized plates to keep each item separate. We plan to return every time we’re in the area because the food is amazing, and the owner’s friendly demeanor adds to the experience. While the building is cozy with only a few tables (and a couple of outdoor seats), it’s truly a hidden gem right off the freeway. Definitely worth stopping by again and again!
