During a long journey, we were brought to stay near AUBERIVE (51). Loged in a cottage nearby, this traditional table, we had been advised by the owner of the cottage. No, without reservation, given the past messes, we still had a table for Wednesday noon. Access to this hostel is very simple, because in this area devastated by the First World War, you have plains, fields with a loss of sight; Just follow the panels. A place, a church, a village café like you love them, the country setting opens to us: we have arrived. Garished, in the shade, in the street facing, we reached the entrance, by the side. Walked in the corridor of an old village house, we headed towards the reception; A very smiling woman welcomes us. The calm of the surrounding countryside and summer shades gave a romantic picture of this coffee. Walked in the dining room, with the old and classic décor we love, we found that all the tables were all occupied; it was a good reputation of this place. The brouha was, alas, quite important, but not everyone has the education to speak correctly without noise. In the middle of the week, there were a lot of workers, construction guys so logical the noise went hand in hand. The choice of the menu was quickly made because there was only one of them at 14,80 euros; We personally appreciate this kind of menu. We had the choice between two entrances, two resistance dishes, cheeses and two desserts; all with free water carafe; for the price there was nothing to say. Our choice of dishes being decided, we went on a quarter of red wine and a quarter rosé, during this waiting time, we rewarded an aperitif by contemplating the countryside and the garden that we saw through the windows. The service was correct but it was discovered that the waitress did not waste its time, since the room was full; knowing that there were still two other rooms as filled. The two entrances arrived: a pizza from the Marne with white sausage from the neighbouring Vosges, smoked bacon; pizza adapted to the region but succulent, homemade dough, fresh garnish. A treat. Then came the main dish; served in a dish for two people but widely garnished. It was a fish, of which I forgot the name copied in a homardine sauce, accompanied by a generous dauphinois gratin, also served in a separate dish. We enjoyed this presentation that changed service to the plate, so we were running as we wanted, at our pace and without having the puts in the plate. The efficient, present but discreet waitress asked us if everything was okay, and she brought us the cheese tray she left us; still a positive point because usually we present you the tray, we make you choose and after three or four cheeses selected the tray repart ; But he stayed on the table. The range presented was very broad; there were no less than 7 cheeses. The cheeses tasted, we paused by finishing the wines. Arrived the dessert, a slice of wood-fruit ice and a tiramisu. The ice was a real delight that I enjoyed because it was really home, melting, creamy, unsweetened, the taste of well-preserved fruit; Brief a treat. Concerning the tiramisu, it was different from the classic shotamisu that we usually know but it remained delicious. We do not premium coffee, wanting to stay on the delicious notes of desserts of the whole meal. We left the table to go to the bar room where we were waiting for the smiling boss. The two menus, the two aperitives, the two quarters of wine cost us the sum of €41.90; Given the service, quality, quantity, we felt that it was very honest. From this coffee of the square, we made the observation that there were very few tables in this style, friendly, traditional, family, tasty, not expensive... We returned to our car, making a walk in the countryside with a discreet charm and full of history but O how beautiful. This is the kind of place we would like to come back. Long live this fabulous coffee!
