What nicole pascal doesn't like about Hôtel- Le Saint Etienne:
It is not possible to have lunch on the terrace when there are a few tables. We choose the most expensive menu on the table, but it is when we see other dishes that we realize that there is a 2nd menu..the sauces, which are liquid like broth. one with champagne which tastes like vegetable julienne, the other with purple mustard which tastes only like meat juice, seriously deglazed. On the road between Alsace and Portugal, our visit to Aubazine was basically purely logistical. We stayed one night at the hotel, and had dinner there. The setting is charming and authentic. The kitchen was excellent. We took two Saint Etienne menus, with foie gras and scallops as a starter, pepper beef and duck à l'orange as a main course, and walnut souffle for dessert.
