We loved Manchester Arms. We had fried cucumbers, blue cheese keel salad, chopped salad, fish tacos and shepherd cake. Everything was delicious. The prices were very reasonable. The ambience was charming and delightful and the staff was so friendly and friendly. I'd definitely eat again here. View all feedback.
This is an amazing hidden gem. It's in on old house from built in the 1950s in a residential area. Here are some tips when eating here: (1) order anything they smoked (chicken wings, pork), (2) they make their own Reuben and the Reuben sandwich is phenominal (my wife ordered it and it was my favorite item at dinner), (3) ask the server about the history of the house...it has a interesting mystery but I won't spoil the surprise. I ordered the fish (cod) and chips which seemed very authentic to this American (who has traveled in England). Fries were a bit moist and flimsy in texture and soak up that malt vinegar nicely. The shrimp and grits was not traditional for the south. The grits came in fried patties and sat in a broth. It didn't taste bad but it wasn't shrimp and grits. I guess that is to be expected when ordering southern at an English place. My wife life my daughter's grit dish. My wife ordered the homemade Reuben sandwich which was phenominal. I hear everyone ranting and raving about the smoked pork but I didn't try it because I would not be able to finish it myself. It is very large and enough for two, and costs as much as two dishes. You need a helper and my wife wouldn't help me with it. The atmosphere is great, and feels like a little pub in England. They have outdoor seating but it seems to go first if weather is nice outside.
Great food and service. I had a burger and fries with onion rings and my friend had the wings. He said they were in the top three wings he's ever had.
Very good! I had the chopped salad as I wanted to eat a little light and it was awesome less the blue cheese. Great atmosphere. Sat outside on a nice patio and enjoyed the evening. Would def recommend
The food was very good, however the beer list was decent, but thin. Great little atmosphere. I would recommend this if you are in the area.
Best Damn Pork Chop You Will Ever Taste. 4 years ago, I was in the area for a meeting and our group asked a local where to go to get a good meal and a beer and this was suggested. We loaded up in a bus and invaded the Manchester Arms. 75% of us got the special pork chop that is always available. This thing is a drug. Its huge, tender, and delicious. I was back this year and made the trek over with a new group while preaching to the group what they were in for. No one was disappointed. The chops, the steaks, they are all great. I also want to mention how friendly the owner/staff are. Upon seeing a Mississippi phone number on the reservations, the owner came to our table to speak when we arrived. She is from Tupelo and an extremely nice person. She told us the history of the restaurant and ownership changes etc. The pork chop chef came over and spoke for a while as well and it was interesting to hear how he went from running a ready mix concrete company to doing this as his retirement despite being in his 30 's. Super nice people. I highly recommend everyone that has an opportunity to visit the arms to do so.
