This was a unique one for me. So lets start with the good, the food. Good sushi all though a little heavy on the rice, good presentation and good menu. Something for everyone, if you like Thai or sushi! Prices are definitely on the higher side. Now for the bad. We got the one waitress that was not in uniform, maybe a manager. She took her sweet time with everything. Drinks took forever, food took forever and not once... View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about Rain Thai And Sushi:
this restaurant offers both Thai and Japanese dishes. we enjoyed some of each. the personal was knowing about veganism. I almost ordered the cocoss soup, but a coworker told me it was done with chicken broth. I'm not sure why this is, but at least they reported me. the mass-amunery and early-rolling were delicious. updated by previous review on Sunday, 28 December 2014 View all feedback.
For drinks we had two Voodoos, very refreshing fruity drinks.Appetizers were Shrimp in Blanket and the Tempura Sampler (two shrimp and vegetables)Mains were Pad See-U and the Super Rain Roll (comes with extra smoked salmon). The food and service (Treent, our server, was very helpful) was most excellent. However, if I had to do it again, I would have chosen the Valentine Roll, same as the Super Rain Roll, just that the salmon isn't smoked, more for my sushi taste bud liking. We have been frequent diners here through the years and consider this restaurant a favorite!
We had one sushi roll, and it was not bad, but the Thai food was nothing special at all. This was the first time we visited this place and we were not impressed, especially for the prices. This is a common problem with restaurants now where everything has gotten to be very expensive and the food is very mediocre. I ordered a pad Thai, which was just average compared to the many other Thai spots in and around Atlanta, and the Mongolian beef was actually terrible. $55 for two plates and one $10 sushi roll, no drinks or anything else. We most likely will never visit this place again, as there was nothing that would make us go back. Very surprised by all the positive reviews. Either we went on a bad night (Saturday night) or people have no reference for good Thai food.
"A pleasant and delicious Thai Food expérience "We walked into Rain for dinner on a busy shopping evening. The restaurant is nestled in the Publix grocery plaza on Cheshire Bridge Road; with plenty of parking stalls around it. We were greeted by what appeared to be the owner/manager upon entry and were sat by the gazebo at the left end of the dining room whereby large padded leather booths overlook the plaza through its floor to ceiling glass windows and wooden shutters. The decor is modern browns and woods with Asian undertones in the form of drill bits on the leather chairs or the rust metal barrels amongst other Knick knacks around the dining room. The ambiance is very cozy casual and we dined on a soundtrack of Diana Krall and Sade style playlist on the speakers. Our meal started with a super light and refreshing. bowl of the lemongrass soup that consisted of Shrimp, kaffir leaves, lime, tomatoes, mushrooms, scallions, cilantro and chili paste $7.95); wow!Next came the appetizer sized Rain Salad, that was served in a lovely square ceramic bowl; and was filled with Lettuce, cucumber, tomatoes and drizzled with homemade ginger dressing $4.95); what a nice follow up! Another appetizer; the Panong Gyoza platter $7.95) came with 5 nicely steamed dumplings that were filled with chicken and vegetables with a side of panang curry sauce it is definitely a must add to your dining experience if you like gyoza or dumplings in general! Delicious! For the main course, the mildly spicy Basil Seafood bowl strutted down our table immediately after the gyoza. It consisted of Scallops, calamari. shrimps with a nice basil sauce $24.95). The seafood was lightly pan fried then steamed and came out fork tender while the basil soy sauce base that added the right amount of tanginess to the mix. We chose a plain fried rice side $4.95) which turned out to be a generous portion of rice with green peas, carrots and eggs; yum! Yum! Yum!We finished our dinner with a mango sticky rice dessert $7.95) the sticky rice was nice and warm while the cold, freshly sliced ripened mango slices were a perfect accompaniment to the condensed milk base sauce. Altogether; Rain is a pleasant and delicious Thai food experience on Cheshire Bridge Road; the all Thai staff was extremely attentive and service was prompt and unhurried. We will definitely return!
We ordered over the phone and stated specifically no seeds. Even on the receipt it says no sesame seeds. I have an allergy and can-not have them as I will end up in a hospital or at least an eppi pen. I could not eat anything as everything had Sesame seeds. Extremely disappointed as I was looking forward to Sushi this evening. You should always make sure as a manager of a restaurant that your chefs are paying attention to the directions.
Came here with my family while they were in town for the weekend. Good service! Everybody works as a team there, so many servers assisted with our table 's orders and drinks. The food came out in a decent amount of time, even though they were a bit busy. The restaurant itself is small and quaint, but very cute. It 's a great little spot to grab some sushi or Thai food. I really enjoyed my Rain Tropical Roll . The mango on top really adds a yummy sweetness to a very savory roll!
