I generally do not review fast food chains unless I am either reallllly bored or there was an experience that either went really well or bad. Another thing I realized, I can see why **** goes down at places. People always talk about how food service workers get the grunt of it, but again, when they have a complete and utter disregard for a paying customer, isn 't it game on? I will say this, thankfully I have gotten older and wiser, or you probably would have seen me on the local news.... This instance further solidifies I would rather starve than go eat fast food again... I had no idea there was a KFC close to work. Missed lunch that day, it was a hectic Monday morning and people were acting ignorant and disrespectful (per usual). It had been ages since I have been to a KFC so figured out lets give it a whirl. The drive through was crawling (per usual), and after staring at the menu a good ten minutes, it was my turn. Trust me, by the point I could have memorized the menu myself. I was polite (per usual) and said I would like the 5pc tender box, with fries, and cole slaw, and a mountain dew to drink. What number is that? I reply back the number 8. You get two sides with that Yes, I will take fries and cole slaw. *silence* what do you want to drink mountain dew. What was that box again? A 5 pc tender box, number 8, with fries and cole slaw. Ok your order comes to 10.54, drive around . I get to the window the lady says did you have the 3pc tender with honey bbq and mashed potatoes , I said no, then proceeded with what I did order. Then they asked if I placed my order in the drive through (im thinking to myself no I went to an alternate fucking reality while I was in line for 20 minutes at this point). Like what the hell? I said I placed my order in the drive through. Then the i presume manager (striped shirt with headphones) comes up and asks my order. So the for damn near 7th time, I repeat it. Then she says, with mac and corn? Clearly I realized by this point she either had enough wax in her ears she was legally deaf, just didn 't give a ****, or I was being punked. I managed to stay calm, and said what I had been saying, fries and cole slaw. A lady next to her was prepping my drink, the headphoned lady asked me if I wanted regular mountain dew or sweet lightning. I said regular. She looked at it, then handed it to me. Now, by then, when I looked down at my drinks, folks I tell you what, it is common sense that mountain dew is an unnatural light green color, so when you hand me a fucking drink that is an unnatural ORANGE color you know that you either don 't care about anything in life, you are colorblind, or you are inviting that person to throw that drink back at you. It was that very point I realized I can understand why brawls happen at fast food places now. I then got a box, and no receipt, so its not like I had a corporate survey, I figured I would just Yelp about this one. The least annoying part? I didnt even get a spork for my cole slaw, at that point I was just shocked I got food that was warm. Never again. Colonel Sanders, I hope you are rolling in your grave if you saw what your empire has become...
I frequently visit this KFC when I'm in the area, and I must say, it's always filled with wonderful people, and the food is consistently fresh. Some individuals seem to be on the lookout for things to complain about, but I've never heard anyone complain about the quality of the food. Any issues are usually minor and often humorous in how overreacted they are, as if it were a major disaster. Overall, this KFC serves up really great meals. While the staff may not be perfect and they do make occasional mistakes, they are friendly, and the food is delicious.
