Al Mezza - Athlone
Al Mezza
Description
Al Mezza offers a mixed bag of reviews, with some diners praising the friendly staff and delicious cuisine, such as the Lebanese coffee and shawarma mix. However, others were disappointed by overcooked, bland dishes and small portion sizes for the price. Some customers found the pricing a bit high for the portion sizes, especially considering the lack of all-you-can-eat options. Despite the mixed opinions, those who enjoyed their experience highly recommend trying the spicy potatoes, hummus, and mix salad, emphasizing the overall lovely taste and atmosphere of the restaurant.

Gorgeous meal. Took the kids and they enjoyed it as much as we did. The food was delicious, service attentive, great wine menu, lovely atmosphere. Would be a lovely place for a romantic meal too very intimate.
Authentic Lebanese food on the left bank. Intimate wee place which was full when we were there. Quite delicious food and not expensive. Really nice Lebanese wine by the glass I never understand why the red wine from Lebanon isn’t more popular. Initially a bit slow to take even a drinks order (25 mins) the service improved as the restaurant emptied after 9pm. A very pleasant experience and only suggestion is to specify what beer is being offered on the menu. Just calling it “beer” is a bit too generic!
The food is decent overall, but I especially like the shawarma mix. The portions are somewhat small considering the price, yet the restaurant has a warm and cozy ambiance.
The food at Al Mezza was fantastic, particularly the hummus and falafel. The service was generally good, though the payment machine wasn’t working, so I had to go out to get cash. Aside from that, everything was excellent.
