Rose Maria Restaurant

They directed us to this hotel when we asked for a good restaurant to have our lunch. It turned out to be one of the better places I have been to in hinterland Kerala. Not that Mundakayam is in the middle of nowhere- it is a planter's town that you pass on the way to Thekkady from Kottayam. The place is not very big but the parking space is rather ample and it is not too far from the town. We had a sumptuous Kerala uunu -the traditional lunch on a platter and thought it was worth the price.

Very good food, well worth the money. Good parking facility. ATM, hypermarket, right at the entrance. Perfect stop for a journey towards Idukki. While travelling from Kottayam towards Idukki the restaurant is 1 Km before Mundakayam town.

Neat, good service, replenished my lunch meal curry (sides) each time I asked for it. Also tastes good. Reasonable price. Sufficient space for car parking.

We almost missed this restaurant on our way from Munnar to Thekkady, and I must thank God for having drawn our attention. A nice peaceful place, with ample parking space, good food and fine service. The Kerala meal was mouth watering and authentic. Recommended for friends and families.

The Rose Maria Restaurant is located on the Munnar Thekkady Road, at Mundakayam town. Complete with parking facilities, clean toilets and good food, this is a place worth visiting during your drive from Munnar to Thekkady. We had Kerala meals (thali) which left us yearning for more. We saw happiness on the faces of all other people who were having a variety of dishes. The friendliness of the staff made our experience even more delightful.
