Not sure what this guys name is but he cooks a great breakfast and the coffee is superb, I have visited this cafe several times and it is always perfect and the location is fantastic, the old Railway station with platypus park out the back door, and if you're lucky you might get to see a Platypus. This is a fantastic place, beautifully decorated with fairy lights, flowers even crocheted blankets The staff are so friendly happy and thoughtful and the food… awesome
Off the main drag and tucked away. A small oasis for a hungry traveller and local alike. Delicious coffee and food AND all the cakes and pastries are made on-site (not bought frozen like so many cafes now). You can taste the difference. Wonderful staff. Dogs welcome too. And it's definitely worth a walk along the railway track to the bird hide and back (6.2km) to work up an appetite for cake!
When you have a dedicated crew who can make really good coffee AND you have home made food to add to that…. You are on a winner! Well done Clare and crew!
Located next to the Platypus Park and close to the CHinese Temple so I recommend visiting all three when you are in the area. I loved the repurposing of the train into seats within the carriages as well as the seating on the platforms, all the bright colours and plants. I had the carrot cake and hot chocolate, which were delicious.
My husband and I and our great friend Payam from Sydney enjoyed a day out in the Atherton tablelands. A great day all round and the Station Cafe was a real highlight. A fantastic rail and garden themed location, scummy vegetarian food, and warm friendly service. And hats off to the waiter she very kindly took our tourist pix thank you for a really nice experience.
