What User doesn't like about The Local 706:
Tried to come for brunch with our daughter before leaving town. The restaurant was empty when we got there. Over the next hour we watched every table get food even outdoor diners who had come much later. It may have been a fluke but I think there isdifferential treatment depending on some external variables and certain types of people get better service. View all feedback.
Another trip into Athens for therapy... open g-maps for local restaurants.. someplace new wanted... This was a very pleasant place with friendly service and interesting menu. At 3pm it was very quiet but you can tell they must have busy lunchtimes. Wehad sandwiches and hotdogs, Hawaiian buns are damn good. Waffle fries seasoned tasty. Place was very clean and well laid outwith adequate seat spacing. Parking out front with only 3 spots but plenty more around back. Decent pricing, large portions.We'll be back. 2nd trip back into town, really starting to enjoy this place. Very clean...again. restrooms damn near spotless.Background Music hip but not overpowering. Appetizer baskets big enough for 3 to 4 people, had to take remaining tots home. Decent bar menu with all the basic drafts plus at least 5 locally brewed ales. I snapped the below pics between lunch anddinner times to minimize customer pics. Plenty of good waitresses that dodged the camera!

Pretty tasty. The woo-pig-hooie (IIRC) was really good, as were the fried mushrooms. Good selection of beer on tap. Service was very good. It's exactly what you'd expect from a semi-hip burger bar. Expect to pay $15-ish per head without drinks.
The food was very good and the waitress was very attentive to our needs.
I really enjoyed the Local 706!! My friends said their Buffalo chicken was too spicy, but I got the Asian and pollo tacos and was going Hamm. I also got a huge $5 margarita which was so good!! Even better, the tacos were only $2 each, so this was a pretty inexpensive dinner for me. I want to come back and try the bowls!
