I live just two blocks away, which makes it very convenient for me. Having spent many years in Hawaii, I have high standards for my Asian cuisine. Here, the food is traditional and not Americanized or franchise-style junk. The quality is consistently excellent, the portions are generous, and everything is cooked fresh to order. The owners are wonderful and very friendly. In my opinion, China 1 is the best restaurant in the area.
This might be the best takeout Chinese restaurant in Athens. I’ve tried several places and they just haven’t been good. I gave this one a shot based on the reviews and I’m very impressed. I have so much food leftover, the food was delicious, and the price point was great. It doesn’t taste like cheap made food either, it tastes better than that price values it. I also have a serious cashew allergy and I know they have cashew items on the menu. They did a great job making sure nothing was cross contaminated in my food which is very hard to come by these days. I’ll be ordering from here every time I want Chinese take out from here on out!
The cashier could have at least smiled or pretended to be excited to see us. However, the food was decent and served quickly. They have been open for dine-in since September 2022.
This is easily the best Chinese food in Athens. It's quite challenging to find quality American-Chinese cuisine in the South, but this restaurant is on par with some of the places I've enjoyed in New York. If you haven't discovered a good Chinese spot here yet, you should definitely check it out!
The sesame chicken might be the best in Athens!
