What User doesn't like about Olney Winery:
Checked out Olmert today after my wife found a Groupon... a nice place to stop in, if you?re in the area or hitting the shops. The staff were very pleasant and the atmosphere was nice (inside w size limited to 12 max). They had ALOT of wines maybe 25 or 30? Everything from traditional reds and whites to fruit wines and dessert wines. They buy their grapes from other regions and make their own wine. Worth a stop, espe... View all feedback.
Not really what I expected. If you say winery, I imagine a small house on the vineyard with beautiful landscape. This is more of a wine bar in a strip-ball. It was a little difficult to locate because my GPS had all turned around me, but I won't hold it against them. The parking lot was large, but shared with many companies, so things can sometimes be a little hectic. I met some friends there for a tasting. I'm usually not a wine-grower, so it wouldn't have been my first choice of an activity. The staff was friendly and helpful to set up our tasting. They allow you to select the wines you want to try to explain to you. Some I enjoyed and some I hated. They don't have a kitchen, but they have chacutery available when you need a snack. I was happy about the tasting, but the whole mood didn't want to hang me up. After tasting, I was out. Overall, it was okay, but I wouldn't say I was a big fan. Can come back when I'm invited again, but no special trips on my own.
This review is long overdue as I have been in Olney Winery about 4 times. I had here a few years ago a women's network event and this winery is more like a large tasting room with cool indoor wine decoration. Immersed in a shopping center, you will find OW with plenty of seating and their wide selection of wines. Recently I came on a Saturday afternoon and brought my friend who had never been, but tried her wines in the forest. I was already familiar with most of them, but tried some I didn't have before. We didn't get a charcuterie board when we were planning dinner a few hours later, but we ordered a baguette with her signature diving oil. They have entertainment during the weekend and I saw a sign when leaving that they were finally relocated into a much larger room with outdoor terrace. What brings me back to this place is the friendly service and good wine options if I just want to find something new. They always create new, unique aromas and this time to I bought a Pina Colada wine Lol. You have a wine club and you can have a small event here and/or give your own wine as a gift for a wedding or special event. I look forward to returning to their new, larger location next year.
Nice place and good wine. Definitely recommend visiting.
Beautiful atmosphere and they play great music. Make sure to ask for Tasha, she is amazing and knows her wines best. ?
