The Mill - Ashland
The Mill
Description
The Mill presents a mixed dining experience, with patrons expressing frustration over long wait times and inconsistent food quality. While some dishes, such as the Cuban sandwich and charcuterie board, received praise for their flavors and presentation, others, like the crab cakes and Reuben, were deemed overpriced and lacking in substance. The atmosphere is pleasant, and happy hour discounts offer some appeal. However, the service, reflected in instances of chefs dining while orders were delayed, raised concerns. Overall, while the restaurant shows promise, many diners felt that it did not live up to expectations for the price.

We arrived a little after 6pm, and we were seated immediately, which was nice, of course. Ordered drinks and chips/salsa right away. (After a while, had to ask about the status of our drinks. At 6:15pm, we ordered our entrées. At 7pm, we paid for our drinks and appetizer, then left, as our entrées had not arrived after waiting 45 minutes, and after several discussions had occurred about the wait. While we appreciate the restaurant being busy, 45 minutes is inefficient and unacceptable, quite frankly. We ended up going to the Paramount show with no dinner (had popcorn . Cannot say how The Mill's ribeye or the coffee-braised ribs are, nor can a review be given about the truffle fries or the gouda polenta (among the dishes we ordered and were looking forward to tasting .What I CAN say is that there are quite a few restaurants in the Ashland area with efficient service and great food. We do not plan on going back to The Mill.
My family of 3 went to check out the new restaurant on August 16 23 . My son had the crab cakes my husband and i spit the Reuben sandwich with the truffle fries. The crab cakes were so small and for $18 it simply wasn’t worth it. The truffles fries tasted like ordinary fries. Where’s the truffles taste ? The Reuben was small in size the meat was salty . Iv lived all over the USA and been to some nice restaurants but this is simply to expensive for what you get and for the area.
Very nice dinner here. A bit on the pricey side but the dishes were great and even the desserts were all made in house and delicious!
They have relocated to Winchester Avenue, and it's an excellent location with a fantastic atmosphere and good service. However, be cautious with some of the entrees; for instance, I recommend avoiding the ribeye and the salmon since they are expensive and not worth it. On the other hand, the appetizers and side dishes are exceptional.
We took 4 kindergarten classes on a field trip to The Mill to wrap up our Gingerbread Man unit today. The owner and staff were amazing accommodated all of our needs. They were so friendly and gave us a tour “behind the scenes” as well as delicious gingerbread reindeer cookies. Our students and staff had a great time. Thanks so much, Mikal, Faith, crew
