Situated in a lovely rural setting, this pub/restaurant makes you feel calm and relaxed as soon as you walk through the door, where a warm welcome awaits. There's just no rush whatsoever in being shown to your table and choosing your meal from the lovely range available on the menu. Service is brilliant from the Italian owners and the menu is also predominantly Italian. The sweet trolley is to die for, being so diffi... View all feedback.
What 770carolv doesn't like about The Black Horse:
I don't even know where to start. The mushroom sauce was thick and lumpy, tasting of uncooked flour and lacking any blue cheese flavor. The gammon in a thickened gravy was cold, and when asked to reheat it came back in the same state. The steak was poor quality and came with only two small tomatoes, half a mushroom, and a small portion of chips. It was also not cooked as requested. The ratatouille consisted of peas w... Visited a few days ago, the food and wine excellent, as well as the ambiance. great people, nice place to, just takes a time to find it, but very well worth the visit
I treated my partner to lunch at the Black Horse last week; our first visit but certainly not our last and worth the journey down from Bromley. A varied and interesting menu, very friendly waitress, Carmel, and a delicious variety of desserts. Enjoyed the Italian influence and getting the chance to practise my Italian. We sat outside overlooking the garden and the view across open fields. A really lovely lunch at a very reasonable price.Highly recommended.
We spent the night in this pub that was advertised as a pub with campsite. The campsite was the corner of a gravel car park with limited facilities and electricity at £8 per night. Dogs were not welcome in the bar which is unusual for a country pub. Lovely staff and very good food but was quite expensive.
Perfect evening spent at The Black Horse. This place is simply faultless....from the beautiful old building, superb food, gorgeous owners waiting staff who couldn’t have done enough for us, every beverage you could ever wish for, spotlessly clean everywhere even ice pops for the children. Love this place!
The sweet trolley is to die for, being so difficult to choose from such a wide variety of superb desserts. Choice of real ales could be better. Quality of food is wonderful, which is reflected in the price. Overall, a lovely place to dine.
