The welcome at this restaurant was warm and friendly. Service and Food was excellent the gateaux basque merits particular note and is not to be missed. We arrived early without reservation and are glad we did because despite being out of season the restaurant filled within 30mins of our arrival, it would be wise to reserve. If you want authentic basque cuisine without any pretentiousness then give this place a try. View all feedback.
What Laura C doesn't like about Chez Gildas:
First time in my life I order a dessert, after a meal an a bottle of wine, to share and the restaurant says no, you cannot have a dessert for 3. So disappointed. I am not going to come ever again, this is not how you treat a client. Maybe is the French way? View all feedback.
We got here on Monday. We had a drink and we asked if we could eat without having booked. a good welcome, an excellent meal, not a tourist catch. nickel price quality. you have to get away from biarritz or Saint jean de luz and discover beautiful places and with restaurants that are reasonable in their fare for a menu. Thank you and continue like that
Very good meal at a reasonable price with a view of the Basque pelota court.

Great hostel where it's good to come and come back. Special mentions for the roasted Camembert and the scallop prawns and porcini mushroom skewers
Summary: not recommended. Good: kids chicken nuggets are good. Clean plates from hungry kids. Bad: poor, slow service 90mins till food when not busy. Ugly:Flies,, lots of them. 5 pieces of bread for 8 people with distain when asked to refill
