We just... read more The Ship and the Anchor offers absolutely fantastic homemade dishes. The homemade chocolate and heavenly cake was undoubtedly the best I've ever tasted. We just dined there, and I can't recommend it highly enough. The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming, and our dog was treated to a tasty treat and some water, making us all feel right at home. Thank you, Jan!

We were warmly welcomed by two lovely Scottish ladies who made us feel right at home. The food was excellent, particularly the homemade slaw. The steak pie was melt-in-your-mouth delicious, and the pâté was exquisite. The lovely lady behind the bar even baked a wonderful cake that was served with a delightful homemade trifle. I was truly impressed, although I just wish we could have sampled the entire dessert menu!
