This week, I celebrated the birthdays of two family members. We chose to dine at Financial Southdowns as it seemed like the perfect option for a large group. Our choice proved to be fantastic as we were not disappointed! The food was delicious and even though there were a few items unavailable on the menu, there were still plenty of options to choose from. I especially appreciated that the children had their own meal options which included a main dish, side, and a drink. Additionally, if an adult ordered a meal, children could eat for just £1 and pay extra for dessert and a drink. Both options were great. The staff were incredibly friendly and even went above and beyond by bringing out a birthday cake for us. They were very attentive, even during busy evenings. A special shout out to Leighanne who took care of my son's lost toy and returned it to us; my son was thrilled! Overall, it was a great dining experience with affordable prices for families. We will definitely be returning in the future.
The food at this restaurant was amazing. Five of us had three courses each and every dish was delicious and perfectly cooked. The starters were halloumi, calamari, and Southend fried chicken strips. The mains included steak combos, jäger chicken, and none of the steaks were small or had any tough bits. The desserts were sundaes and decadent brownies that would satisfy any chocolate lover. I would highly recommend this restaurant for its large selection of drinks including Doom Bar, non-alcoholic apple wine, and cocktails like Purple Rain, Pina Colada, and Espresso Martini.
I visited this restaurant while staying at Butlins in search of a nice meal. I have been to a couple of other locations of Sizzling Pubs, and I must say that this one was better than my local one. We went on a Monday night, so it wasn't too busy. The meal was well-cooked and very delicious. We also had dessert, which was great. I would definitely visit this restaurant again.
