While lunches and dinners provide a mix of experiences—ranging from decent sandwiches to a standout coleslaw—attention to detail in meal preparations is inconsistent. The Sunday roast, despite its appeal, has faced criticism for dryness and lackluster flavors. On the brighter side, friendly and attentive staff enhance the dining experience, and the establishment serves as a great base for exploring Arundel. With potential for refinement in its culinary offerings, it remains a recommendable spot for a cozy meal.
The four of us were very pleased with the quality and flavor of the food. The service was excellent. I highly recommend this restaurant.
Only spent a four night stay in st mary’s gate on a b
Unfortunately, we found that the sense of community we were anticipating was lacking. Despite the beautiful surroundings and well-presented dishes.
Very beautiful welcoming atmosphere. very practical location near the castle and cathedrale. eating and service are excellent. the best I had during my stay in arundel. I would definitely come back.
We stayed for a couple of days late august, the room was in an annex separate to the actual pub, basic furnishings and a bit tired but all perfectly clean, no complaints at all for the price. We had a Sunday roast on the first...night which was lovely and the morning breakfasts were great, really set you up for the day ahead. Lovely staff too and a great base from which to explore Arundel and the surroundings.
