What Luna Andrés doesn't like about Plaza 24:
Location, super, the ambiance was wonderful the service was lovely, what lets this resturant down was the food was served cold. I don't mind waiting for my meal to be cooked while I enjoy a drink. But there is no excuse for food to be served cold on a cold plate View all feedback.
We came across this restaurant on a Sunday evening. It was one of a few open in the Marina at Arrecife. The food was excellent along with the service. The wine was reasonably priced and the Amaretos with the coffee were of an exceedingly generous size.
Frozen solid foi gras. Very very unhappy with Restaurant 24. This was our third choice of restaurant as the superb Divina Italian restaurant was closed, as was La Lupa, a good Mexican restaurant so we decided to go upmarket to Restaurant 24. This was our second visit in 2 years and definitely our last. My starter of Foie gras was frozen solid and had to be returned the waiter conceded it was icy and instead of our previous experience of complementary bread with olive and balsamic oils and an amuse Bouche we were asked if we would like bread and butter. The main course of Cherne had obviously been stood a while and was only just warm with mushy courgettes and insipid tasteless unrecognisable accompaniements. Our bill was delivered to our table and immediately taken away. We assumed this was to amend the bill due to the inedible starter and very poor main course. As it was, the bill was reduced by 3 euros to reflect the difference between the Foie gras and the replacement prawns in garlic butter. The bill, including a bottle of wine, a beer without sweets or coffee was 90 Euros. Needless to say we will not be returning!
The family happened to be able to find time in their busy lives to get together for a quick break so we chose Lanzarote. Our first family meal together was on a Friday evening at Plaza 24. This restaurant was picked as it was believed to have been able to cater for the family's eclectic tastes and was located at the relatively new marina waterfront . We picked two dishes as starters to share amongst the family. The Pulpo or Octopus came out far too hot in temperature, as this dish is meant to be served warm and on top of that the octopus was tough. The other starter was prawns cooked in garlic. The garlic was not properly cooked. Turning to the main course we again picked two plates for sharing the first being mushrooms and the second being a mixed plate containing various cuts of meat. Being brutally fair the mushrooms were good but there was such a distance between the mushrooms arriving at the table and the meat plate arriving that the mushrooms were finished before the meat had arrived! This was even after prompting the waiter as to the location of our meat dish. When the meat dish finally arrived I must admit it was immensely enjoyable although we had not been asked how we wanted the meat to be cooked and I did notice there were other diners who had ordered the same as we had, returning their meat, requesting it be cooked further. Such was the disappointment in the meal that we opted not to have desert but went straight to Coffee. When it came to paying the bill I had to ask two times for the bill before being given it. My conclusion is that this restaurant could be very good. It is in a fantastic location that screams of quality and luxury. On the day the Family ate there it was around half full and there appeared sufficient staff to be able to cope with the number of covers. I find it difficult to explain why they could not serve the food, properly prepared, with all the dishes being served in the correct fashion. It is such a shame that I can only award this place 3/5 and this is due mainly to the sloppy service and in attentive staff. I have a mental note to return in the future and I honestly hope that there will be an improvement as this restaurant deserves better than I have been able to give it.
A wonderful location right in the Marina. Great place for a quick drink, afternoon relaxing or a long and unhurried supper under the stars.
