O Forjador - Arraiolos

Very typical,cheap, Portuguese restaurant. Very limited menu but excellent quantity and pleasant service. It is not fine dining but is very satisfying if hungry without disturbing the bank balance.

If they are looking for a local place with local people and local simple cheap foods this is their place. the huge bar in the entrance hall looks impressive, so the local people sit at the bar eating petiscos and drinking beer do! but they had to know that there is no menu, the waiter speaks only Portuguese and Spanish and they have only one choice or meat dishes. our arroz de pato was ok, but a bit dry it was precooked and just put briefly with cheese and chorizo too often. the meat dishes of our neighbour also saw from a large pot that was cooked throughout the day (porco), the only fresh things that they do are fries and salat. we have a bill per menu that is acceptable for the offered food (and the opposite side of the carbahn) is the problem in alentejo is really that usually they find only overpriced tourist traps (which are for the same heated and more) or such local places that are quite simple but nothing special.
