This is well prepared with rea... read more We stayed at the Quinta a week, and enjoyed several nights at the resturant. A lot of food, locally produced and regional dishes. This is well prepared with really good taste, we enjoyed all. They have a really good selection of wine to pair your meals with. For the amount of food and quality this is a really great choise, well worth the money. We also loved the stay, the quinta is in good condition and the staff is very friandly and helpful. Lovely sourroundings. A great place to relax and explore the Douro valley.

While th... read more We stayed at Quinta da Barroca, and there was only a set menu available. We would have gone elsewhere, but didn 't want to drive. We shared one dinner. While that was still plenty of food, we found it to be rather bland. The carrot and orange soup sounded interesting, but we couldn 't taste the orange. The fish was fishy ; it tasted old. In general, the food was lack-luster. While the service was very friendly and efficient, we were seated next to a large family with children who were allowed to run around the restaurant and ended up crying. There were only the two parties dining at the time; we don 't know why we weren 't put in the other room or, at least, a little further from the family. This experience was just one more reason we wouldn 't return to Quinta da Barroca.

Veal, rabbit and fish dishes were our highlights. Service was personal and with care. Amazing view over the Duro valley
