Just tried this location for the first time and glad I did. Pulled pork sandwich and home cut fries outstanding. Coleslaw fresh wirh large chunks the way I like it. Fresh lemonade very good. I'll be back. View all feedback.
I come here regularly but this Saturday I went I was disappointed. I got a pound of rib tips and they were cold and barely any sauce. Normally they're swimming in sauce and pretty tender when I get them here. I've been coming here for quite a few years and this is the first time I ever really had a complaint except for when they first opened. I know they weigh out their portions but it did not seem like a pound at all. I did get their hot dog Gene and Jude style and it was fire
First Time Going! Will Definitely Return for Really Good Food Great Selection! Home Cut Fries!
Fast forward a bit: the tow truck driver turned out to be a real lifesaver, and my day began to improve. He dropped me off at the auto body shop on the corner of Walnut Ave and Northwest Hwy. While I was waiting in the shop's lobby, I decided to ask the manager, “Do you know any good places to eat around here?” He recommended Big Ange’s Eatery, telling me it was just a few blocks away and that I wouldn’t regret going there. I took his advice, and it was incredible! I ordered a brisket sandwich with extra BBQ sauce on the side. The brisket was incredibly flavorful and tender, and the bread was buttery and soft. When I asked for a side of fries, I couldn’t believe it came as a whole bag of delicious fries! My day had started off so poorly, and now I was laughing at how I reacted earlier. Silver lining: how else would I have discovered this amazing restaurant? I wouldn’t have, and now I have the chance to share Big Ange’s with everyone. Ever since that day in 2017, I’ve recommended this restaurant. But how did Big Ange’s save my life, you ask? After enjoying my meal, I headed back to the auto shop, only to find police cars, fire trucks, and ambulances everywhere. A wave of anxiety washed over me as I thought, “Oh my god, what happened?! Is my car okay? Did it catch fire? What’s going on?!” My mind raced with alarming thoughts. When I got closer to the shop, I saw the source of all the commotion: a car had crashed through the brick and glass and was now sitting inside the waiting area of the shop, right where I had been sitting less than half an hour earlier. The shop manager noticed me and rushed over, his expression a mix of shock and relief. He said, “You have no idea how happy I am to see you! If you hadn’t left to go eat, I don’t know what might have happened to you!” And there you have it—the true story of how Big Ange’s Eatery saved my life.
This restaurant is absolutely outstanding! The decor has a warm and vibrant atmosphere, and it's clear that the staff genuinely care about the establishment, my order, and ensuring I had a great experience. While I was waiting, I was treated to a sample of the brisket, and it was simply amazing—perfectly tender, melt-in-your-mouth slow-cooked brisket. I chose the pulled pork with coleslaw, which was also delicious. The pork had a delightful tang, and the coleslaw was wonderfully creamy. The macaroni and cheese on the side was heavenly, offering just the right level of cheesiness. This unassuming little building truly houses a hidden gem!
Few restaurants can match the consistent quality of food that my local spot offers. It's truly a top-notch place.
