My favorite bakery in Chicago land. I had both bread and bento-boxes. Every visit I buy different bread and bento-boxes and so far I love them all. My favorite savory bread is Curry-Pan, sweet bread is chesnut cream, bento is daily special. View all feedback.
What Joji Doi doesn't like about Bakery Crescent:
I went all the way to this place from Downtown Chicago just to find no sandwiches left at 11:15 am place opens at 10:00 am). Very bad customer service, they barely speak any English. Owner came out and said that you must order food ahead of time. There is no website. Pretty lousy way of doing business but it seems they really don?t care about non Japanese Customers. What a waist of time!! View all feedback.
"Small but mighty" perfectly captures Bakery Crescent. The baked goods are delicious, the service is excellent, and the meals are surprisingly impressive. Thank you for the wonderful experience!
This is a family-owned business, and their prices are incredibly reasonable. The bento box of the day is just $8.75. Where else in Illinois can you find a freshly made-to-order bento box crafted by a skilled Japanese pastry chef for that price? It feels like 90s pricing without the inflation! I wish I could post photos of my meal, but I couldn't resist digging in right away—I finished it all! This place truly is a hidden gem. Please show them the kindness they deserve.
The food here is outstanding, with fresh pastries, breads, and more—all at unbeatable prices! It's incredibly affordable! I'm a huge fan of their durian cream; it's not easy to find such a unique flavor, and they execute it perfectly. I can't wait to try their bento of the day on my next visit!
So yummy!! my favorites were the melon pan and the curry pan. good prices, i got like 6 different breads and a drink for around 20$ definitely recommend
What a fantastic little bakery! I stopped by around 7 PM on a Friday when Mitsuwa market was crowded, and I decided to give this bakery a try. They have a lovely selection of sweets, and their hot food is reasonably priced! It's cheaper than Mitsuwa, and the flavors feel more authentic.
