I love the home-cooked feel of this restaurant! I also appreciate the variety of dishes that are new to me in Puerto Rico. The Pechurrasco is a standout favorite of mine! I just wish they had Adobo for the tostones haha! The service was excellent and the atmosphere was cozy. Overall, I give it a 5 for the food and a 5 for the atmosphere. I highly recommend it for a lunch outing. View all feedback.
What Carmen Aponte doesn't like about El Mofongo:
A first time visitor I ordered White Rice Beans, Mofongo con Pork and the pork was hard to chew, Alcapurrias, Pastelillos was all tasteless. The food was entirely just not good. Service: Dine in Meal type: Lunch Price per person: $30–50 Food: 1 Service: 2 Atmosphere: 2 View all feedback.

You don't come for the atmosphere, you come for the FOOD! Always amazing, best PR restaurant in DFW! Food: 5 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 3
We have been looking for a place like this forever! It was so good, so comforting. We sampled the beef platter, beans and rice, tostones, rellenos de papa and the guava pastries for dessert. Even if you don't know what it all is, order it and leave full and content! Service: Dine in
Zero stars. Yeah I knew I got there just before closing, at 7:50. I called on my way to try and place my Togo order but they didn't answer. When I got there there were other patrons in the restaurant. She told me they were closed until she heard my pronunciation. Then she was gonna serve me. SMH. The atmosphere is poor period, barely four walls and no feel to it. Service terrible. If you don't want to serve people at 7:50 then close at 7:30.
The best food at a reasonable price. A place I will always recommend.
