We had butternut squash soup (Veloute' de but... read more We had a wonderful lunch at the Bar Tabac Brasserie in Arles France. Right off the square with lots of atmosphere. We had butternut squash soup (Veloute' de butternut, Poe'lee' de champignons, lord grille et ses croutons) actually really thick, creamy and rich soup with lardons (small pieces of pork) and divine crunchy croutons. In the USA this would be a bowl of soup, in France it's a meal and evidence of a dedication to making food a sensuous experience.
