We were again not disappointed with our noon meal at Mas St. Bertrand. These dear people have survived the lockdowns and the pandemic. We are thankful. It was so nice to return to this oasis with great food in the middle of the Rhône River delta. Dress warmly for October in the Camargue can be a bit chilly (and indoor eating is offered). This is a fantastic find. Tucked away on the D36c in the Camargue. We cycled from Saints Marie’s de la men across the etanges. It was a beautiful cycle and a real joy to experience such great local, traditional Camarguais food. The people were so friendly and welcoming, knowledgeable about the food and really cared. We enjoyed it so much we cycled back for a second time. The smoked salmon; smoked in front of your eyes, by the patron; is melt in the mouth, exceptional! My husband had the huitres/oysters, which had just been brought in that morning and where carefully prepared and beautiful. Take cash, or cheque or do a bank transfer...they cannot take cards

The parking was located in the horse enclosure in the middle of the poop, the smell was unbearable, the opinions do not show at all the truth
We were driving through the Camargue viewing flocks of flamingos. We passed a small sign that said ‘restaurant’ as we headed south. On our way back to Arles, we pulled in and had an absolutely delightful lunch. The service was excellent as well as the food. Both our English-speaking waiter and the owner were very charming and helpful. Perfect afternoon.
This is a great location when in the Camargue. The Salin-de-Giraud tourist office recommended this location to us (and phoned to make our reservation) in connection with a nature walk near the Etang du Fangassier. The Mas is located in a very green belt of the Camargue. The green canopy also provides cover for various birds. One caution: have lots of mosquito repellent with you....throughout the whole region of the Camargue. Visited for lunch in Sept 2019 and the noon meal is still superb. Had the fish soup served similarly to boulibasse and it was great.
