The atmosphere was exactly what one would expect from a Cafe in France..The service was wonderful. The wait staff was very understanding our limited french vocabulary..The food was excellent and we enjoyed everyting from starters to desert..We definately wanted to go back, however ran out of days...
We were looking for somewhere for a light lunch, preferably on a shady terrace as the temperature was in the mid 30’s, Cafe George was a good choice We had a sharing platter, the Planche combinee, great value at €20, and a 50cl house rose, a large beer and coffees, a final bill of €41, very reasonable in a tourist centre like Arles The platter was very enjoyable and service was good
Our last day of a 2-week stay in Arles. We were wandering around looking for a place to have lunch on a Sunday afternoon. This was the perfect spot. Very pleasant food; service was friendly (we were Americans, communicating in fractured French). All other customers seemed to be locals. It was a nice, relaxing, leisurely meal.
We ate there this evening and had tuna, shrimp, snails, and boeuf tartare like I've never had before! Wonderfully spiced. A very nice Moroccan influence. (Plus, my eight year old daughter ate almost everything before I had a chance. If she likes it, I know it's good. Service was excellent, and the cost was incredible for a meal that would have cost twice as much elsewhere. Worth the trip!
