"This small seaside restaurant serves incredible seafood that is both fresh and delicious. It is always packed and sells out quickly due to its popularity. The no-frills atmosphere is complemented by the awesome seafood dishes. The staff is exceptional, offering quick and friendly service. Be sure to bring cash as they do not accept cards. It is recommended to arrive early to secure a table."

The food and service were excellent at this restaurant. We thoroughly enjoyed the fresh seafood, which was cooked to perfection. The variety of menu options was also impressive.

During our trip to Oban, we stopped by the Green Shack for a meal. Over several days, I tried their fresh mussels, prawns, salmon sandwiches, and their famous prawn sandwich. The seafood they served was the freshest and best I've ever had, and I've eaten a lot of seafood. If you find yourself in Oban, make sure to treat yourself to this delicious local seafood. Just a heads up, they only accept cash payments.

Been once. Wouldn’t bother again. Crab sandwich had cartilage in it and very limp lettuce. Experience made worse by seagulls rummaging through the bins which didn’t have lids on.

Really disappointed with food and service. Mussels over cooked and scallops bland not seared. Sliced supermarket bread which was soggy and pretty awful. Claimed not to have enough cash/coins and so gave us less change back than was due when we paid. Server thought...

Nestled by the pier, this seafood establishment combines casual dining with fresh local flavors. While some diners were disappointed by overcooked mussels and lackluster service, others praised the generous Grand Platter and its array of delicious seafood, including exceptional salmon. The bustling atmosphere, characterized by a long line of eager customers, hints at the quality and value offered. Despite limited seating, patrons enjoyed their meals at communal tables, exchanging stories about the experience. Overall, this seafood hut promises a unique culinary adventure, though potential visitors should be prepared for varied dining encounters.

I messaged them on Facebook to inquire about ordering a seafood platter before catching the ferry to Mull. They were very accommodating and had the platter ready for us when we arrived at the ferry terminal. They even packed it in my cooler bag with ice, and we had a fantastic meal upon reaching our holiday cottage.

This restaurant is cash only and make sure to bring small bills. I had lunch here five times and tried a variety of dishes including scallops, cold shrimp, lobster sandwich, mussels, crab sandwich, and prawn sandwich. The prices are reasonable and the location near the Calmac harbor is convenient. The seating is communal with benches, so you can sit, eat, and even make friends with other diners and travelers. Just be sure to eat quickly in the colder months as the food cools down fast due to the cold wind.

I bought 5 oysters for eating outdoors at the hut. They were large, fresh, beautifully prepared and exceptionally good. Can't recommend highly enough.

Really disappointed with food and service. Mussels over cooked and scallops bland not seared. Sliced supermarket bread which was soggy and pretty awful. Claimed not to have enough cash/coins and so gave us less change back than was due when we paid. Server thought this was acceptable! Very strange given they only accept cash and there is a bank very close by!
