Bay Cottage - Argyll Bute
Bay Cottage
Description
This restaurant offers a range of experiences that leave guests divided. While some patrons appreciate the friendly service and enjoy decent drinks and cake, others recount frustrating waits for food and subpar quality. Many noted the uninviting courtyard and high prices for basic menu items, emphasizing a lack of value. Inconsistent food quality, from greasy breakfasts to basic sandwiches, has deterred multiple visitors from returning. Despite the potential charm, the overall dining experience has not consistently met expectations, leading to calls for improvement in both service speed and food quality for future diners.

We stopped for a bite to eat and ordered a roll and a sandwich. It took ages to arrive although we were the only people there. They brought 2 sandwiches and 2 tap waters, apologised that they made a mistake and made sandwich instead of roll, which of course is not a big issue, until you see sandwiches made on cheap white bread with basic fillings with no garnish not even some crisps and where then charged £10 for the pleasure. Disgusting amount to charge for two basic sandwiches.
My friends and I stopped for a quick coffee break and we were not disappointed!! The service and atmosphere was lovely and the food and drinks delicious!
We have popped in here for takeaway soup a few times recently. It has been splendid, piping hot and tasty with a nice buttered roll Well done
We enjoyed a lovely breakfast at this restaurant. The service was good and the staff were very friendly. We would definitely come back again and would not hesitate to recommend it.
