We popped our noses in as it was pouring with rain. We weren’t sure what to have or to even eat here but the friendly waitress asked if we wanted cochinillo we’d have to order now as it took roughly 30 mins to cook. We decided to and came back after a wet walk. We were not disappointed. The cochinillo in the menu del dia (menu of the day) was fantastic. I’ve had a few in Segovia and this was up there as one of the best. It’s cooked slightly differently but my, the bits between the meat and the skin were something very special: almost fused to the skin. So perfectly cooked. I could tell you that the starter of creamy white beans was really good or that the flan de queso dessert was really delicious but it doesn’t matter. Get the cochinillo.
We went there for the cochinillo which was superb. We just kept it simple and had a salad with it. A perfect meal.
A unique meal tavern. Order a full (ok for 6 pers. sucking-pig which will be serve with a delicious crunchy skin, cut apart with a crockery plate in front of you. I recommend to order a salad as side dish and some digestives at the end to facility the digestion.
Traditional restaurant with great pork. Their tortilla espanola is also perfect. Get the house wine. Why not?
The place very clean and presentable ,the menu is petty good. We desided to stop in bescause a friend had recomended the restaurant for the Cochinillo Asado is one of the spanish cusine specialties not disapointed but not overwhelmed ,the steaks very good but we were very satistisfied with their homemade deserts ,the staff very attentive ,we got to meet he owner at the bar side of the restaurant were we desided to have our espresso coffee and talked to him ,very nice
