This was the only restaurant open in the whole of Arcis on 1/9. However, what a find. The owner was very animated with his customers, great with the kids and provided one of the best couscous I have had outside of North Africa. View all feedback.
What Benoît Marty doesn't like about Anzi:
We stopped here on Sunday 16th August whilst driving south. Arcis makes a good stop fi you start in Calais. It was the only place open. We were late in the day and that seemed to affect the food. It was fine: chicken and chips and a vegetable couscous, and the owner was assiduous and flamboyant - but, in the end it was only chicken and chips and nothing special. I see other people had a better experience, we may have... View all feedback.
I've been a lot of times in this nice little town. The pizzeria near the camping was ok, but the rest... Finally i found this moroccon resto. I had a very good chicken brochette, nicely spiced.Good fries. Nice salad. The 'Chardo des copains' was very ok. Price-quality excellent! The mint-tea was the best I've ever drunk. You want a minus: the view outside. So just look at the inside.
We stayed in Arcis on a Monday night. This was the only restaurant open. The meat was good quality but for €16 a plate you expect at least a piece of tomato on your plate!!! We had lamb skewers & Chips (2 adults @€38,40) and that was exactly what you got. Kids had merguez sausage & chips. Kids eat more than one scrawny sausage no matter how many chips you put on a plate!!!!! My boys (8&11) were still hungry after spending €10 each on their meals. Mayonnaise and ketchup was on a saucer the size of a kids teaset and to be shared with 4 people. Small bottle of wine ( not even 1/2 litre) was €9,80All up we spent €70 for 4 pieces of meat and loads of chips, 2 oranginas, 1 bottle of water and less than 2 glasses of wine each. Simply ridiculous, would never come again and would definitely NEVER recommend it ...,.
Good food, interesting decor, very flamboyant and friendly owner. Well worth a visit. Our children really enjoyed the food and the atmosphere!
There's not much competition in Arcis but this restaurant was worth a visit. The welcome was enthusiastic, the olives delicious and our tajine took a while to arrive - a good sign
