I wanted to visit Smugs with my friend Wesley. We lived at the end of 10th and Q, so it was just a short walk for us. Back then, the pizzas were $1.25 or maybe $1.50, and they were delicious! I highly recommend it. If anyone is interested in starting a pizza place with me, I'm in! I'd also like to serve beer, so we would need to obtain a beer license. View all feedback.
I went to Arcata in 2003 and ate here. I loved the pizza so much that I remember this place until today. I can't wait to come back at some point and get another slice!
This place has the best pizza! It is known for cheap pizza by the slice, but the pizza itself is actually my favorite in Humboldt. I love their crust. It's perfectly delicious! Not too hard or too soft. The toppings they use and the sauces are very high quality. They also sell cookies made in house and drinks in bottles or cans. It's more of a grab-and-go place, not a sit-down restaurant, so keep that in mind when you call in an order. It's well worth it to buy a whole pie and they are perfectly willing to make each quarter of the pizza different. We like to order the a variety of toppings and let the pizza chefs get creative. We've been regulars at the Eureka location for years. The last time I went to the Arcata location, I was very impressed with the food and the service. The McKinleyville one is quite good as well.

No big decisions here. Walk in and grab a fresh slice from the hot case, or order a custom pizza; as it's only one happy size, the only stress is figuring out what you want on it! I love the pineapple jalapeno. If you want only 2 slices of a specific kind, you can call ahead and order, and most times they are happy to make it happen for you. Simplicity at it's finest.
Just had Smug’s today after visiting 20 years later. It was the best when I lived here 99-01 and still is!
