To... read more This review is long overdue! My bf and I had spent the night in Arcata and decided to grab some breakfast before we left. Wow what a great decision that was. To begin, we walked in and not two mins later there was a line out the door-we missed the crowd.We chatted with the very nice people in line and looked at all the wonderful breads. As we were paying for our bagel sandwichesone of the staff members gives us the loaf of bread we were admiring! Already enjoying the atmosphere that seemed palpablyaligned, we ate our food. The bread melted in our mouths, the bagels were delicious and crafted with good ingredients and theirchai was the best I?ve ever had. We love this place and think about it often. Can?t wait to go back. Thanks Los Bagels for awonderful memory.

There are plenty of options for bagel toppings. I had the thai bagel. I had not even considered carrots on a bagel before but it was actually really good. They also have really good Mexican hot chocolate that is nice and frothy. There isboth indoor and outdoor seating. They also have little things such as napkins hot sauce stuff like that. The cashier isfriendly.

Maybe someday I go to New York and some bagels there beat them, but n... read more I come here every time I come to Arcata. Los Bagels remains the best bagels I’ve ever had. Maybe someday I go to New York and some bagels there beat them, but no discussion of best bagels in the west is valid without including the original Mexican Jewish bagel bakery. The jalapeño bagel is unique in the bagel world. Many places do some sort of jalapeño or jalapeño cheddar bagel with slices of what I assume are canned jalapeños, but low bagels brings the mild heat just right. The perfect bagel for a scram bagel. The slug is their take on the everything bagel, and is great for all purposes that an everything bagel would be used for. Except the flavors of a slug are so much more intense: garlic and onion bursting in my mouth. My wife got Izzie’s guac and lox on (my) recommendation and loved it. Oddly, I don’t like the texture of lox, but have been trying to reproduce this gem at home for years with dry smoked salmon. I realize my problem is low quality bagels. The pastries and coffee are also top notch. Los Bagels is one of the places I miss the most since moving away.
