Description
The restaurant received mixed reviews, with some customers expressing disappointment in the quality of the food and service. One customer complained about a long wait time for a to-go order, poorly cooked food, and excessive prices for unsatisfactory meals. On the other hand, another customer praised the bar for its wings, fast service, and classic atmosphere. Additionally, other customers enjoyed the fish and chips, breakfast menu, vegan options, and cocktails. Despite some negative feedback, the restaurant seems to have a loyal following for its unique offerings and friendly staff.

What can I say? This place is a genuine classic. The bar and dining area are small yet inviting, and there's a charming outdoor space at the back for smokers. I come here about once a week specifically for the wings, which I truly believe are the best in Arcata (Humbrews used to claim that title, but they've recently altered their recipe). Since it's mainly a bar, there's typically just one server managing the tables, but they are efficient with drink service, so you won’t have to wait long.
At first, Alibi was a place you visited because of its strangely unpleasant atmosphere—unnervingly quiet, with harsh fluorescent lighting and concrete floors. On the upside, the waiter was friendly. The grits I tried were pale and had an odd texture, the biscuits were almost indistinguishable from the fish filet, and the chicken in the chicken and waffles looked questionable. The mustard was thin and watery. Despite these flaws, the overall experience made the trip worthwhile.
The food was overly fried, giving the impression that the chef was missing since everything served was deep-fried.
