Made reservations for my husband 's 60th birthday and took some of our children and grandchildren. Had spoken to the owners on more than one occasion to make the best weekend possible. Upon arrival, as the owner was showing us to our rooms, he immediately started saying if this happens in your room, you 'll need to do blah, blah. The property was not mowed. There was an unused mattress and box springs shoved under a an open stair space in the penthouse . No body soap in our room. Full sized bottles of shampoo/conditioner instead of personal use. Lights over the bath sink, only one if the 3 bulbs worked and they were all different bulbs. Dust bunnies behind the bathroom door. Dirty corners. Breakfast was included but served one meal! So much food and dirt on the floor and in the chair seats. Obviously had not been cleaned. Owner was dressed in dirty looking clothes, baggy shirt and ball cap!!!! And all this mess for $415!!! The history of the property is amazing and they actually had a tour at certain times but we weren 't told about it. Take the tour but staying, in my opinion, ...not worth the money. Sorry guys! Rooms: Rooms were minimal and set up poorly. Nearby activities: Johnson Shut-ins Elephant Rocks State Parks. Great hiking. Food drinks: Food was alright but the dining room was dirty. Also, only offered one meal (not selected by you). I have a grandson allergic to eggs. They never asked.

The food is great, staff is very friendly, enjoyed a tour. We stayed in the penthouse, beautiful place, rich in history. I will be back soon

My husband, myself and our good friend all drove about 7 hours to come stay here for the weekend for a friend's wedding. The bride and party got ready with us there the morning of, the makeup and hair team even loved the suite. We cannot say enough goodthings about not only the penthouse suite we got but the breakfast and the hospitality we experienced overall. The property isBEAUTIFUL and such a joy to wander. The building which has the penthouse and other rooms to rent in it is so unique andabsolutely on point. We only wish we had had the time to come in and explore the insides of the rest of the buildings and getsome of that ice cream! Thanks for the welcome stay.
