My husband travels to Ashern every year to hunt. This trip, the entire family got to visit and we had dinner where he eats each year for wing night. We had burgers, fries and cheese sticks. The meal was good, the service was excellent and we even played slots while waiting for our food! View all feedback.
What Kimberley P doesn't like about Sharptail Motor Inn:
This establishment is a combination hotel/bar/restaurant/VLT. The staff was very polite and personable and the price for a dbl room was only $88. The room was clean but not modern. Fridge, microwave and coffeemaker available in the room. Good enough for late night check in when traveling. I did not like having to wander through a bar to find the Office, nor the customers who walked over to the hotel room area to smok... View all feedback.
Clean, comfortable and well equipped rooms . Tried a few restaurants in the town but had the best taste with excellent service at sharptail motor inn. Will surely visit again !
I travel alot for work, I'm no stranger to budget motels. But I've never been in anything this bad. Thankfully I got a room tomorrow at the nice motel. I haven't tried the restaurant/ bar yet. I'm kind of intrigued due to another review on here saying it was so good.
I know that this place comes up on this site under resturaunts but there is also a motel involved. My recent two night stay at this establishment was interesting to say the least. I was in town for a family wedding and my family had booked the entire motel. This was nice as the walls were thin. Our rooms ranged from okay to downright gross. They smelled like smoke, booze and a party gone bad. The carpets were dirty but the walls were worse (stains of all nature). The washrooms were ramshackle at best and several rooms had no or very little lukewarm water... nevermind hot. Overall the rooms were in almost total disrepair - broken screen doors that badly cut people, broken furniture and do not bother with the coffee pot unless you have all day. The rooms did have, however, relatively new fridges and matresses. Also the sheets, blankets and towels appeared and smelled clean. Worn out but clean. It is due to these reasons that this motel got a "poor" rating and not "terrible". The bar and offsale are directly accross from the rooms. We used the offsale (a whole other story) but avoided the bar. It is a busy place with loads of "interesting" people standing outside smoking until all hours of the night. There are better places to stay in this town and there are worse. If I had to stay in Ashern again I might stay here but I would rather pitch a tent at the campground accross the highway. On the up side: the Petro Canada down the road has an EXCELLENT cafe and our rooms were within walking distance of the hall where the wedding supper was held.
I am a regular traveller up north on hwy #6. I have tried almost every restaurant in town of Ashern, at last I tried at Sharptail, and I found it best in town. I stayed at the motel and I tried their pizza, burgers, etc. they were best in price and quality
Sometime the best food can be found at small town resturants...well this is NOT the case for this resturant!!!!!! If you driving north on #6 stop at subway in Ashern or keep going north another 1omin to Mooshorn and stop at the hotel there!
