I sampled the pulled pork nachos and the brisket sandwich, and I also enjoyed a $4 beer. The staff were friendly and attentive. The atmosphere is lively, and the place is consistently busy with customers.

The outdoor seating next to a beautiful pond was ideal for staying cool during the hot afternoon.

My husband ordered the full rack of ribs, which were incredibly tender and fell right off the bone. The barbecue sauce was perfect—just the right amount of spice without being overpowering. He barely finished half, and we heated up the rest the next day for dinner. I had the brisket, which I prefer lean. They mentioned that ordering it “cut” instead of “chopped” makes it much leaner. I went with the cut brisket, and it was delicious and very lean. It doesn’t come with sauce, so I got the Memphis and Kansas City sauces on the side. At the restaurant, there’s a side table with about a dozen different sauces you can try. My favorites were the Kansas City and Memphis—both incredible with just the right kick. I also had the baked beans, which tasted like they were made with pulled pork or brisket, and they were unbelievable! We ordered a side of cheese curds with ranch as well, and they were so good we couldn’t stop eating them. Honestly, we could only get two halves because we wanted to save room for dinner, and when I microwaved the leftovers the next day, they tasted just as good. They have a fridge full of beer options, including a great selection of microbrews at $4 a can. They also offer a variety of delicious local root beers. The place itself is charming, very clean, and the staff were super friendly with excellent service. We took more than half of our food home for the next day’s meal, and I can’t wait to return to Minocqua just to eat here again! I highly recommend Bad Bones B-q for lunch, dinner, or carryout!

My dish... read more My partner and I visited Bad Bones B-Q for the first time! I ordered the Carolina fries, and he went for the brisket sandwich with fries. Wow, wow, wow! My dish was heaped with pulled pork and slaw over fries—a true mountain of a meal! I even had leftovers. They offered 12 different kinds of sauces, which is more than I've ever seen at one place! I tried several, and they were all delicious. My meal was absolutely spectacular! Definitely a 5 out of 5. If I’m ever back in the area, this will be my top pick. Highly recommend!
