Was Shanelle Heathcote at Amber Ridge a mag?
Our morning tea stop here is always great. The freshly cooked produce are delicious. It's always fascinating to smell and view what's cooking in the kitchen, from cakes to preserves and sauces. We love it. Also, there are freshly grown fruit and vegetables for sale, as well as a selection of pot plants. View all feedback.

Had a wonderful lunch just now at a lovely little spot near the Victorian/South Australian border near Naracoorte. A restored old house turned cafe with a rustic, country feel and wonderful food. The coffee was also excellent and arrived just as we like it! There were plants, produce , pickles and jams to buy and much of the produce came from the surrounding gardens. The serves were generous, the staff , friendly and the cakes were divine!!!!

My wife and I discovered Amber Ridge about two years ago while travelling to Adelaide. The steak sandwich then was legendary and when, this time, I was travelling to SA I timed my visit to arrive at lunchtime even though it meant starting at 4am. Well, it was worth it. The steak sandwich is still the gold standard. Every item of salad on the wooden platter is grown in their own vege garden, they bake their own bread, make their own chutney, the eggs come their own hens, and the cheese and beef and smoked bacon is locally sourced too. In fact, one of the staff was actually picking the tomatoes and lettuce as I walked inside. How fresh is THAT?The serving is large, LARGE, and I was too full to eat any of the lovely baked desserts. They also sell plants and produce. All the locals seem to eat there, and I noted that the police and ambos who travel between Horsham and the SA border all seem to stop there for their morning break too. So they are doing something right.Very much worth stopping. It is just before Apsley, coming from Horsham, and set back so look carefully. The building itself is a hundred year old farmhouse, just oozing history and character.Kim W

This charming restaurant is located in a secluded area, offering a warm country welcome and delicious homemade cuisine. Cindy and her team are attentive and treat both children and adults with equal courtesy. The vintage tea pots and tea cups add to the delightful atmosphere, along with a selection of homemade savory and sweet treats. While the menu is not extensive, there is something for everyone, from young children to adults. The service is quick and the food is delicious, catering to a variety of tastes. The younger guests enjoyed their original milkshakes and unique chocolate meringues, while the adults appreciated the cozy interior and relaxed atmosphere for catching up with friends. I have visited for lunch before and will definitely be returning. Thank you, Cindy, for creating such a special place in a remote rural area!
