There was a... read more We chanced upon the restaurant and went in not knowing what to expect. We were welcomed warmly and the hostess spoke some English which was helpful. There was also an English menu. However, we decided to go with her suggestions. She gave us two large plates of different pastas to share and a large salad to share. These were the chef's specials of the day. The food was excellent. We had had a few meals that were acceptable but not memorable in the last week so we were very pleased to find such delicious and memorable food. Very good value. Cheerful service. We hope to return.

He told us that the owner had left, so was unsure what the service and food would be like, however the chef had remained. The pizzas were some of the best pizza we've ever had the crispness was unreal. Staff didn't speak much English, but we were able to get by and they were very friendly. On our second visit we tried the antipasti in addition to the pizzas. This was also very good with lots of cheeses and meats. Prices were very reasonable.

We asked for a variety of appetizers and pasta to be served family style. I knew we were in for a treat when our server placed beautiful hand made plates in front of us. We enjoyed plate after plate of appetizers accompanied with bread, flat bread, and bruschetta. Besides the usual home made salami, prosciutto and cantaloupe, we enjoyed plates of fresh steamed spinach and garlic, a variety of cheese, and different types of olives. Just when I though we were finished, plates of deep fried homemade, potato chips not fries! , onion rings, olives, and cube of a sweet vegetable ? unsure...squash? lightly breaded arrived! When the pasta arrived, I was not sure that I had room for anything more. Both filled homemade pastas a huge tortellini and ravioli were just made fresh accompanied with light sauces of tomatoes and mushrooms. We enjoyed both of them. A plate of sweets followed out meal but I could not eat another thing. Other finished off the plate of sweets quickly as we all enjoyed a coffee. Our server was very attentive and helped make this a special evening for all of us.

None in this piccola Cita, the lady said, and her husband drove us to our B&B kilometers away.

Very nice restaurant down town Appignano. Nice people and excellent food. Especially the hand made pasta and the very soft beef, delicious.....
