What freeguru dislikes about Al Terzo:
Good food, good view, but ricevuta fiscale must be equal with my order. I do not see this in the fiscal receipt: 1. pane e coperto (5 euro) 2. Water No information about pane e coperto in menu Our order: 12(main) 12 (main) 4(salad) 6 (coffe) 34 Final receipt: 44 View all feedback.
A very impressive lunch, albeit was a little frenetic when it filled up with big groups. The mixed seafood antipasti was amazing and arrived on a multitude of plates, all beautifully presented. Quality of main course good. View and location superb with both inside and outside seating over the beach. Given the amazing value of train tickets in Italy, Anzio well worth a day trip from Rome and Al Terzo well worth being venue for lunch!
Great location with a sea view. We had pasta with clams and was very tasty. Would recommend, good food and great location.
We had a wonderful evening here at table outside overlooking the beach. We arrived before the restaurant actually opened, but were made to feel welcome and served drinks and snacks until then. We had local seafood, well prepared, and the service was attentive.
This restaurant was directly across from the hotel where I was staying. It has a stunning view over the sea and appeared quite popular. The staff was gracious and rather good actually. So why did they miss the target? The food bored me. I expect to have food that is superior to what I could make at home...this wasn 't. The spaghetti vongole tasted like pasta in butter with steamed clams dumped on top. Completely flavourless. The grilled calamari was actually rather nice. Perfectly done, tender and allowed its subtle flavour to emerge nicely. The grilled vegetables were vile. They were spongy with no surface crispness. The texture was as if they had sat under a heat lamp for a long time. The house wine was perfectly adequate. I do wonder if perhaps the staff was a little too attentive. I 'll explain. When I entered, the host asked where i was from to which I replied, England although I 'm originally from Manhattan, NYC. I thought this was idle curiosity and prompted him to give me a menu in English (the only place to do so all week). I wonder if the chef may have tried to adapt the flavour levels to what he thought an English guest would like? There were so many locals eating there that I can 't imagine they would have been satisfied with the same level of flavour that my food was lacking. As I said, the staff was lovely and attentive (they could tell I wasn 't particularly fond of the food) but they missed the mark with me. I hope they bring their standard up to the level I experienced in the rest of Anzio. I would like to see these lovely people succeed.
