Trópicos - Antwerpen

Always a firm favorit for almost the last 15 years! never disappointed. genuine Mexican and Brazilian cuisine thanks to the same cook that has been there in all the years.

This place caught our eye on our fist night in Antwerp. Didn’t get the chance to dine there until our last night and I can say it did not disappoint! We showed up without a reservation and we still got seated right away and got a nice table on the upper floor of the restaurant. The atmosphere was delightful and the spacing of the tables made the experience really enjoyable. The service during the entire stay was top notch and we never felt forgotten or ignored. The menu was really interesting and diverse and there was something there for everyone. The crescendo of this place however was the cocktail list. As a cocktail enthusiast, it is usually pretty hard to excite me but this list made me want to order every single one of them. As a side note, I saw some reviews commenting on the price of the cocktails being too high but for someone coming from Iceland where the price is twice as high, these prices were delightful, completely aside from the fact that the cocktails were so good and worth every single euro. I can not recommend this place enough, it was easily the highlight of our Antwerp trip!

Excellent food (Mexican/Brazilian), good service, friendly and family environment; little pricey but the food worth it.
