What did we get: 3 small pancakes 4 raspberries 1 slice of kiwi 13 pomegranate 4 full and 4 half blueberries Not enough maple syrup. Presentation it looked maybe cute but the only thing I could think of was how they dare to ask €19 for this dish. Service and atmosphere were fine!

It’s easi... read more I visited Bardin in Antwerp for a quick lunch with a friend. The place itself looks nice and cosy, and there’s a cute little backyard which is a plus. It’s easily reachable by tram, though parking nearby is a bit tricky if you’re coming by car. Unfortunately, the experience didn’t quite meet expectations. The first thing I noticed upon walking in was an unpleasant smell coming from the toilet area, which was quite off-putting while I was waiting for my friend. We ordered a homemade lemonade and a tea — the lemonade was actually very good. For lunch, we both went for the Thai salad. It was a bit strange to find mushrooms in it, and the taste didn’t really work well with the rest of the salad. It also seemed like the salad came from a prepackaged mix — we even had a few soggy, dark leaves that clearly shouldn’t have been served. On the bright side, the beef in the salad was cooked nicely, but the sauce was way too sour for my taste. Portion size was okay, but nothing impressive. We finished with two more teas, and the total bill came to nearly 80 euros, which I found quite overpriced for what we got. Sadly, with the overall experience and service, I’m not sure I would return.
